How You Can Help

We would not be able to run our programs here at PRDA without the help of our many dedicated volunteers and sponsors.  All of our horses are donated or free-leased, and we accept donation of stable and office supplies. We have several hundred volunteers who help out in lessons and with the care of the horses, and we greatly appreciate of all of them. We couldn't maintain our programs without them. Volunteers also help at our special events, such as fundraisers and horse shows.

Donate to PRDA:  If you're interested in donating to PRDA, donations of cash, supplies, and servies are greatly appreciated. We have a horse sponsorship program which is a yearly commitment that we value very much, and also a monthly giving program for those who wish to help a little each day.  All cash donations receive a tax receipt, and some services and supplies are also elligible for a receipt.  A quick and easy way to donate cash is to click on the blue "Donate Now" rectangle to the left of the screen.

Volunteer:  If you would like to volunteer your time, there are many ways that you can help. Volunteers can help in the barn, during lessons, and in the office.  We have a great training program for those who help in lessons.  Many of our volunteers are also riders who ride our therapy horses weekly to ensure that they remain fit and flexible.

We appreciate all donations. With your support the programs continue to expand, allowing more children and adults a chance to enjoy and benefit from horseĀback riding. If you have any questions about PRDA or therapeutic riding, please contact our Langley head office for more information. Our office is open 9-5, and we're always happy to answer any questions that you might have about PRDA.

Donate a Horse:  Our herd remains fairly stable at about 18 horses, but we are always on the lookout for that very special horse.  We look for horses with calm, even temperments who enjoy people and like to have a job.  There is no particular age for a good therapy horse, but some 'life experience' is helpful in adjusting to the special circumstances at PRDA.  If you think that your horse might be a candidate for our program, please call the head riding instructor at 604 530-8717.
